18th August 2016 - Islwyn MP praises hard work and dedication of students and teachers

Islwyn MP praises hard work and dedication of students and teachersThe Member of Parliament for Islwyn has said that local students in Islwyn should be proud of the hard work and dedication they have put into their studies after an excellent set of A-Level results.

According to Caerphilly County Borough Council, the provisional pass rate for students in the county was 97%, with 69.8% of students achieving grade C or above. The number of students achieving the very top grades A* - A increased over 1% compared with last year to 16.6%.

Mr Evans said: ‘Yet again students in my constituency and in Caerphilly as a whole have proven their hard work and dedication with an excellent set of A-Level results this year.

‘It is also important to pay credit to the teachers who have put in so many hours to ensure that our students have the best chance possible. Behind every good grade there is a good teacher and they deserve our thanks for all of the important work they do.

‘I wish everyone who has received their results today the very best of luck as they move on start careers, apprenticeships and further study. To those who did not do as well as they might have hoped: never let a bad grade get in the way of your future. Keep on trying and never give up.’
