Helping to serve your community, Chris Evans MP Help Shape Britains Progressive Future

26th Septmeber 2016 - Islwyn MP celebrates contribution made by environmental groups

Islwyn MP celebrates contribution made by environmental groupsThe MP for Islwyn, Chris Evans, has celebrated the contribution made by environmental groups to their communities and urged more to apply ahead of the Postcode Local Trust funding deadline on Friday 30th September.

The Postcode Local Trust, which is funded by the People’s Postcode Lottery, was established in 2015 and provides grants to charities and community groups which improve local ecology and habitats, encourage biodiversity and the wider environment.

Registered charities in Wales can apply for grants of between £500 and £10,000, with up to £2,000 on offer for other groups. Applications must be made before Friday 30th September at 5pm and can be submitted online at www.postcodelocaltrust.org.uk

Mr Evans said: ‘Even in beautifully green constituencies such as mine it is sometimes easy to take our environment for granted. Yet I know many organisations in my constituency do fantastic work maintaining and improving the environment for their community.

‘I know that funding is often a major obstacle in projects like this which is why grants are so important. Any charities or groups in my constituency with an environmental project in mind should seriously consider applying for funding from The Postcode Local Trust.’
